MISSION
The mission of Pause for the Truth is to provide a forum for the truth about inequities in health and medicine. To promote knowledge and excellence in health care delivery to all citizens in Northeast Florida. We will work to influence the elimination of religious, racial and gender discrimination from Northeast Florida’s medical institutions, and increase public awareness about adverse risk factors inherent in modern living, and encourage the altering of lifestyles to prevent early onset of disease.
Like many healthy food pyramids, the focus here is on eating plenty of fruits and vegetables, whole grains and lean meats and fish. This diet encourages us to eat healthy foods such as collard greens, sweet potatoes, salmon, tuna, olive oils, beans and nuts like almonds.

Did you know that about 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer during their lifetime? Or that breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths among women in New York State? Additionally, Black women are more likely to die from breast cancer than other groups of women.
Without clinical trials, doctors will not know how to effectively treat Black patients. Clinical trials are essential in testing new drugs on Black patients and determining how they may affect them differently than patients of other races.
Nutraceuticals are a class of products such as pills, powders, bars and tinctures with ingredients derived from plant and animal food products. Their manufacturers claim that, among other things, these supplements can fight cancers or heart disease, boost gut health or improve general wellness.
In our busy world, it is easy to lose track of what matters most. It’s important that we take time out for ourselves first and assess how best you can use your skills in order make an impact on society at large–whether this means changing a company culture or giving someone else insight into their career path!
