Ms. Jocelyn Turner

Health Care Consultant

Jocelyn Turner, a graduate of the University of Florida, is a seasoned public health professional and Health Education Consultant. She retired in 2019 from the Florida Department of Health in Duval County after more than thirty-six years working in various leadership roles. Her passion and concern for public health didn’t stop, COVID-19 brought her out of retirement.
Early in the pandemic she facilitated numerous community Town Hall meetings with local health experts and facilitated focus groups to understand the public’s perception of COVID-19. Ms. Turner’s representation landed her several contracts with local hospitals and other companies focusing on community engagement and training. So, she started Turner

Alliance Consulting. She became a Certified Education Provider, training Community Health Workers seeking continuing education. She has continued working on issues related to the pandemic and became the Reach Initiative Director at the Partnership for Child Health where she oversees several grants addressing COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy in multiple counties in Northeast Florida. Ms. Turner is an advocate for addressing health inequities and works to assure that everyone can access and attain optimal health. Her ability to engage with communities at every level, has bridged the gap between leaders and the grassroots community to address difficult topics related to health equity, social justice, inclusion, and health disparities. She has extensive experience organizing community coalitions that focus on improving health outcomes, most notably men’s health, and Hispanic health. Ms. Turner is Co-host of Pause for the Truth, a weekly podcast that focuses on health, social and equity issues. In her spare time, she is a Travel Adviser and loves to volunteer with local non profit organizations, including organizing an annual health event for men.
